Dear Danny: What's Your Favorite Website?
Well, fictional reader, I'd love to respond to your question with another question. What is the best website in the world? If you answered Newgrounds, then you are correct. Newgrounds has been my favorite website since I was 13. It's essentially a Flash community with a bunch of games, movies and art. The website features a dark orange and black theme that is perpetrated throughout the site's many pages. The Flash, Audio and Art Portals all have dark hues that work with each other to prominently display the content. The upper navigation is repeated on every page so as to connect the entire site flawlessly. All of the windows are properly aligned with each other or centered on the top and related things are proximate. That being said, Newgrounds could do better by separating advertisements from other in-site navigation links. The user system works to integrate the individual experience excellently with the website. Users can collect badges, awards, reputation and even highlight their own Flash submissions all from a custom profile. In the end, Newgrounds is a very appealing and interactive website that is a shining example for Web 2.0 capabilities. You can visit Newgrounds too at www.newgrounds.com!
